Established in 1984, SAC has become a leader in providing comprehensive surgical care throughout Maryland, renowned for its top-tier expertise in general, vascular, and minimally invasive surgery. Through this new partnership, AVA will offer SAC the resources and expertise needed to support its continued growth while preserving the practice’s dedication to high-quality patient care and physician autonomy.

Founded in 2003, Gramercy Park is among the largest independent multi-site endoscopy providers in the region, with endoscopy centers at 250 Park Avenue & Bennett Avenue in Manhattan. Their services cover a wide range of endoscopic procedures, including a dedicated practice for anesthesia services at the endoscopy centers. Gramercy has chosen to collaborate with SP to benefit from their expertise in scaling businesses to top-tier industry platforms.

Merritt Healthcare Advisors is pleased to announce the partnership between Bay Area Surgical Specialist Services, LLC d/b/a BASS Surgery Center (“BASSS” or the “Center”) in Walnut Creek, CA and United Surgical Partners (“USPI”) headquarted in Dallas, TX. Founded in 2016, BASSS is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center with 30+ physician partners, and professionally managed by the BASS Medical Group. Through this transaction, USPI aquired majority ownership and management rights of the Center.

OrthoConnecticut has chosen to align with HOPCo to capitalize on its operational proficiency, robust infrastructure, value-based care, digital health platforms and proven track record in scaling MSK practices to market-leading platforms.

Heart & Vascular Partners (HVP), based in Deerfield, IL announced a strategic partnership with St. Louis Heart and Vascular (SLHV) headquartered in Bridgeton, MO. Established in 1993, SLHV is the largest independent, full-service cardiology and vascular practice in the region, serving the community with seven office locations across Missouri and Illinois. Through the new partnership, HVP will provide SLHV with scalable business operations support while investing to grow through expansion of services offered and increased access to outpatient modalities.

Merritt Healthcare Advisors is pleased to announce the partnership between NorCal Orthopedic Surgery Center in San Ramon, CA, and Surgery Partners headquarted in Nashville, TN. NorCal, which was an Out-Of-Network ASC comprised of nine separate operating entities with 25-physcian partners, has partnered with Surgery Partners to leverage their operational expertise and to help the Center go In-Network with payors. The Center’s legal counsel, Ron Grace of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, played an integral role alongside Merritt in this transaction by structuring the merger of the nine entities into one ASC and then executing the sale with Surgery Partners.

Merritt Healthcare Advisors is pleased to announce the partnership between Elite Clinical Network headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, and Surge Private Equity based in Dallas, TX. Founded in 2003, ECN is a leading network of clinical research sites with 14 locations throughout California, Texas, Nevada, and Arizona. ECN conducts clinical trials (phase I-IV) across several therapeutic areas, including vaccines, infectious disease, women’s health, medical devices, pulmonology, and dermatology, among others. ECN has partnered with SurgePE to leverage the private equity firm’s operational expertise and experience scaling businesses to industry platforms. Cozen O’Connor served as legal counsel to ECN with BakerHostetler advising SurgePE.

In this transaction HPM acquired 100% of the non-clinical assets of Somers Ortho in an effort to continue their expansion and strategic focus on alliances with top-tier orthopaedic practices in key Northeast markets.

Merritt Healthcare Advisors (“MHA”) is pleased to announce a new partnership between Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital (“KSSH”) and Surgery Partners (“SP”). Surgery Partners has acquired a majority interest stake in Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital and its’ on-site Pain Center. In a separate, but concurrent transaction, the real estate housing KSSH was sold to a third-party, a transaction led by HREA.

Merritt Healthcare Advisors (“Merritt”) is pleased to announce the purchase of BetterMed Urgent Care by HCA Healthcare. The deal includes all 12 of BetterMed’s urgent care centers. The company has eight clinics in Richmond Region of Virginia, which are located in Short Pump, Regency Square, Willow Lawn, Mechanicsville, Ashland, Chester, Colonial Heights and Midlothian. It also has two clinics in the Fredericksburg area and two in North Carolina. Merritt principals served as the exclusive advisor to BetterMed.

In October 2020, Grand Teton Surgical Center sold a majority interest to Mountain View Hospital and Surgery Partners, a leading nationwide firm managing ASCs and POHs.

In October 2020, Bakersfield Heart Hospital sold a majority interest to Surgery Partners, a leading nationwide health system.

In July 2020, Central California Healthcare Holdings (comprised of Fresno Surgical Hospital, Summit Surgical, and Herndon Surgery Center) sold a majority interest to a joint venture between CommonSpirit Health, Ascension, and USPI.

In February 2019, Alpine Surgery Center sold a majority interest to HCA, a leading nationwide health system. Alpine engaged Merritt to market their interest in the facility and advise the Facility during the transaction process, including Buyer selection, due diligence, and documentation.

In May 2018, New York Endoscopy Center sold a majority interest to the Montefiore health system, a leading New York health system. NYEC engaged Merritt to market their interest in the facility and advise the Facility during the transaction process, including Buyer selection, due diligence, and documentation.

In February 2020, Panama City Surgery Center sold a majority interest to SCA, a leading nationwide health system.

In March 2018, Advanced Surgery Center sold a majority interest to Surgery Partners, a leading national surgery center company. Advanced engaged principals of Merritt to market their interest in the facility and advise the Facility during the selection, due diligence and documentation process.

In October 2018, De La Vina Surgicenter and the Center for Specialized Surgery (a Physicians Surgery Centers managed facility) merged and sold a majority interest to Surgery Partners, a leading national surgery center company. Ownership at these centers engaged Merritt to market their interest in the facilities and advise them during the merger and subsequent transaction processes.

In January 2018, Cullman Surgery Center sold a majority interest to Cullman Regional Hospital, a leading regional healthcare provider in northern Alabama. CSC engaged principals of Merritt to market their interest in the facility and advise CSC during the selection, due diligence and documentation process.

In November 2016, Surgical Center of Connecticut was acquired by Surgical Care Affiliates.

In November 2016, River Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center was acquired by Surgical Care Affiliates.

In July 2016, LifeBridge Health acquired a majority interest in Ellicott City Ambulatory Surgery Center.

In July 2016, Waterbury Surgery Centers acquired a majority interest in Naugatuck Valley Gastroenterology Consultants and Endoscopy Center.

In March 2016, Sutter Health Plus acquired a majority interest in Stanislaus Surgical Hospital.

In August 2016, St. Joseph Health Mission Hospital acquired a majority interest in California Specialty Surgery Center.

In September 2015, IntegraMed acquired a majority interest in CT Fertility.

In September 2015, Specialty Surgery Center of Connecticut acquired a majority interest in Summer Street ASC.

In December 2015, Surgery Partners acquired a majority interest in North Dakota Surgery Center.

In June 2015, Guildford Surgery Center acquired a majority interest in CT Center for Plastic Surgery.

In August 2015, Dr. Felice’s Youthful Images was acquired by Bloomfield Surgery Center.

In June 2014, Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland merged with Ellicott Surgery Center.

In December 2014, RMC Med Stone sold a majority interest in StoneGate Surgery Center.

In May 2014, National Surgical Hospitals acquired a majority interest in Fairfield Surgery Center.

In June 2013, Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center acquired a majority interest in Hand Center of Western Connecticut.

In March 2012, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in Diagnostic Endoscopy Center.

In November 2012, Connecticut Surgical Arts was acquired by River Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center.

In November 2011, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in Northeast Surgical Care.

In February 2013, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in the Boston Endoscopy Center.

In August 2005, United Surgical Partners International acquired a majority interest in Central Jersey Ambulatory Surgical Center.

In November 2011, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in Northeast Surgical Care.

In February 2008, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in Wilton Surgery Center.

In April 2011, AMSURG acquired a majority interest in Spine Institute of New England.
